MOD-dConn
MOD-dConn : OPC-DA Server for MODBUS
Worldwide Reach
MOD-dConn
Presenting MOD-dConn, a very economical OPC server for MODBUS Device connectivity. Support both Serial & TCP/IP Communication. Unlimited Tags & Devices Support available.
Adaptive Connectivity
MOD-dConn dynamically adjusts to various MODBUS devices, ensuring stable connections every time.
Efficient Tag Management
Organize and manage your tags effortlessly, enhancing operational clarity and efficiency.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting
Integrated tools help identify and resolve connectivity issues, minimizing downtime.
Expandable Architecture
As your needs grow, MOD-dConn scales with you, accommodating more devices without compromising performance.
Easy Connectivity for HMI, SCADA, EMS and ERP
MOD-dConn is OPC-DA Server and provides real time device data to any OPC client. You can use it providing real time data to any third party OPC-DA client such as SCADA, HMI or EMS and even ERP application.
Use with PLC, SCANNER, Drives and many other devices
MODBUS is de-facto standard today and is supported by thousands of devices by hundreds of manufactures including Rockwell, ABB, Schneider, Siemens, Mitsubishi. Use of MODBUS ensures that you use a common RS-485 network for different makes of devices.
Multiple Access to Single Device
MODBUS, being a Single Master Multi-Drop Network, allows only single master for multiple MODBUS Slave devices. This implies that at a time only one HMI, SCADA or EMS can communicates with MODBUS slave devices. When multiple applications are required to communicate with devices on MODBUS network, you can use MOD-dConn. The MOD-dConn is MODBUS Master which communicates with all MODBUS devices and serves all third party applications like HMI, ERP, MIS, SCADA through OPC-DA interface.
Energy Monitoring Solution
Use MOD-dConn for connecting your MODBUS meters with our Flex-eSuite or other EMS for building a scalable Energy Monitoring Solution. Use of MOD-dConn ensures that you can also access your meter data with other third party applications such as billing application, Alarm Software.
Features
User Friendly, Fully Configurable, Highly Scalable
Easy Configuration
Easy to configure MODBUS OPC Server. Simple and easy to use GUI for device and tag definition and viewing real time data from device. Allows declaring OPC Tags in hierarchical manner.
Polling Optimization
Allows optimizing reading block of MODBUS Register. This allows muliple tags to be read in a single read command for performance. You can define upto 99 Reading Blocks on a single port / channel
Supports MODBUS Protocol Variants
Supports MODBUS RTU, MODBUS ASCII, MODBUS on RS-232 Serial Port, MODBUS TCP/IP and many others.
Multiple Device Type Support
Allows defining multiple types of device with different register-parameter mapping. User can simultaneously connect different makes of PLC, Energy Meters, SCANNER and other devices on a same channel / port.
Device Template Support
You can use pre-built device tample for easy creation of device tags. Allows defining new device tamplates or modifying existing tamplate.
Flexible Port /Channels Configuration
Allows setting baud rate, parity and/or start bit on each channel individually. You can also use different variant of MODBUS Protocol on different channels / ports e.g. MODBUS RTU on COM1 channel and MODBUS ASCII on COM2.
OPC DA 2.0 Interface
MOD-dConn is built using the industry standard Northern Dynamics OPC Server Tool Kit which is compliance tested for OPC DA 2.0. The library has been tested with many third party OPC Client including SCADA/HMI from many vendors.
Tag Scaling
Allows scaling of the value returned by the device. Linear and Square Root type of scaling are supported.
Error Diagnostic Support
Automatically creates Error file device communication diagnostic. Time Out, Read / Write and different other types of errors are reported.
